About the committee

Welcome to your WAS committee

In 2023 Paul Willard finished as president of the WAS committee.
In the 2023 AGM Craig Dalton was elected as president, and Sue Dalton as Secretary (along with some others for committee positions etc).

On May 3, 2024 Craig, contacted my domain registrar and asked them to change registration details (rather than contacting me, whom WAS bought the domain from YEARS earlier).
His efforts were met with legal problems, i.e. the sale and purchase agreement was between me and WAS, nothing to do with a domain registrar (it’s a bit like asking a council to change the ownership details of a property without buying the property).

On May 22, 2024 I laid a complaint with the  Federation of New Zealand Aquatic Societies (FNZAS) about the handling of WAS, and the 2023 election (people were voted in that weren’t paid members), nothing happened.
Maxine Lynch who was the president of FNZAS basically said “it’s a club problem, we want nothing to do with it”

On May 27, 2024, I handed all authority of the domain over to Craig Dalton.

Nothing was done with the domain, and on 26 October 2024 the domain was not renewed, and entered a state of “pending release”.

WAS had 3 months from that date to pay for the domain to be renewed, they did not.

On January 26, 2025 the domain was released publicly, where anybody could buy it, I bought it.

Despite me (Paul Willard) trying desperately to keep the club running (and the website),
Craig Dalton has failed to do the most simplest things, like pay a few dollars for a domain name each year.

Our Previous committee was:

  • President Paul Willard
  • Vice President Adam Crawforth
  • Treasurer Adam Crawforth
  • Secretary Nicole Marie Breen
  • Committee Mike Gieseg
  • Committee Balladichanda Bipin Bopanna
  • Committee Mathew Hewett

I have no idea who is on the committee now because Craig Dalton wont talk to me 🤣
Below are pics of the committee that finished in 2023.
This website, and the domain name is now privately owned by Paul Willard.
Why do I keep the website running you ask?
Because I’m a bit of a philanthropist, and I have a huge soft spot for WAS.
